I'm Karan, the Instructor at YogaSoma.
I like to teach an alignment focused balanced system of Yin and Yang yoga informed by somatics and biomechanics. What does all this mean ? I hear you say. It means that I prefer to teach a style of yoga that is in keeping with recent knowledge about how our bodies move, supports keeping our spines healthy, and our bodies strong and supple because I personally believe health and mobility are essential to our quality of life.
This style of yoga has helped me to recover from my own own injuries and improve my own alignment, so I'm enthusiastic to share what I have learned with you.
I also teach Yoga Nidra which is a beautiful meditative practice. It can be truly transformative and promote a deep sense of wellness. I teach a method called Irest which is a research-based practice used in many settlings including hospitals and schools. Research has shown that iRest can reduce PTSD, depression, anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, and drug and alcohol dependency while increasing health, resilience and well-being.
I teach mostly one to one and I have some group classes.
